STI Practical Nurse students, along with their instructor joined forces with the Brockton Council on Aging for the March to End Elder Abuse on June 15, 2016. The STI team pictured above with Brockton Mayor Bill Carpenter includes students Chelsea Ruel, Marie Bertrand, Tish Smith, Destiny Burgos and Steven Gregory, along with their instructor, Carol Miller.
This annual event was held to support World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. The route started at the Council on Aging to the Old Colony Elder Service and back to Council on Aging. Janice Fitzgerald, Council on Aging Director, invited the STI team to join the event and promote awareness. Approximately 150 people participated.
