Electricity Program Overview

TI’s Electricity Program is designed to meet society’s continuous demands for electrical applications in residential and industrial settings. Electricity is essential to everyday life, and opportunities for qualified electricians continue to grow as emerging energy technologies continue to develop. This program provides students with theoretical and practical experience on residential wiring standards and practices, commercial wiring techniques and applications, as well as industrial controls. Students will gain advanced knowledge of electrical theory and its application to a variety of practical situations and be well versed in a variety of skills such as troubleshooting electrical systems, quality assurance and testing, and proper meter usage.

Graduates of TI’s 10-month, 750-hour Electricity Program will be prepared for entry into the electrical skilled trades industry, including apprenticeship. This program includes Tier 1 & Tier 2 (300 hours) towards fulfillment of the 600 required hours of education by the Massachusetts Board of Electrical Examiners for Journeyman Electricians. Graduates also earn up to 400 hours of work experience towards their Journeyman Electrician License and their OSHA 10 card.
