On Saturday, June 17th, Southeastern Technical Institute Practical Nurse students, along with faculty, staff, family and friends participated in the Leo MacNeil Family Walk, part of the week long festivities supporting Brockton Knocks Down Diabetes. The group of about 30 from STI walked 2.2 miles to show their support after encouraging words from speakers including the mayor of Brockton, Mr. Bill Carpenter.
After the walk, the STI group enjoyed Signature Healthcare’s Health & Wellness Expo in the Massasoit Community College Student Center. Family activities, healthy snacks, games, and vendors provided valuable information about diabetes, nutrition and more. All walk participants also received complimentary tickets to the Brockton Rox game that afternoon.
