The Practical Nurse graduation ceremony took place on Tuesday, June 21st, in the new Southeastern Performing Arts Center. It was, to say the least, a full house with family, friends, & supporters in attendance as well as school committee members and incoming Superintendent Holly MacClanan. To begin the evening, Carissa Laiweneek led the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the Program Director, Pamela Rose, who offered some words of wisdom which included: be kind, honest, a team player, proactive, go that extra mile, remember the whole patient, listen and always be a patient advocate.
Judy Wendt served as guest speaker for the event. Ms. Wendt is currently the Office of Nursing Services Veteran Healthcare Administration RN Transition to Practice Residency Consultant. Lauren Ebbs was selected as the student speaker to represent the class of 2022. The following graduates received recognition & achievement awards :
Carissa Laiweneek, Southeastern Regional School Foundation Scholarship
Alicia Lomax, Outstanding Vocational Student Toolship Award
Lauren Ebbs, Practical Nurse Excellence Award
Laurell Farinon, Perfect Attendance Award
The evening concluded with the pinning ceremony and the reciting of the Nurses Pledge. Steve Udden, school committee member from Foxboro, summed it up quite accurately. “It was a privilege to see the heartfelt joy of the loved ones, families, classmates, and faculty for you this evening and, hear of their support to you all. Truly moving…”
