For the last six years, Mr. Degan, STI Director, has organized the annual Adopt-a-Family community service event at Southeastern Technical Institute. Each year, Mr. Degan speaks to all current STI students about nominating their friends and family in need to receive gifts from volunteers.
After compiling a list of all the families, STI faculty, staff and students volunteer to purchase gifts for one or more of the children. This year, we were able to make the holidays a little brighter for twenty-one children in eight different families. These children range from newborn to fourteen years old.
Over the last six years, STI faculty, staff and students have provided gifts to over 130 children in forty different families!
