Courtney has been a part-time Clinical Instructor in STI’s Practical Nurse Program for five years. She graduated from Boston College in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She worked as a staff nurse at Goddard Hospital and Compass Medical. For the past fifteen years, she has worked as an RN in the Emergency Department at South Shore Hospital. This year she transitioned to become a member of the Rapid Response Team which responds to emergencies and acts as a resource throughout the hospital. In April of 2014 she attended ELNEC (End of Life Nursing Education Consortium) and provides education to staff nurses in order to provide better care and quality of life for patients at the end of their life. Courtney enjoys bringing her acute care experience to nursing students in order to prepare them for the complex needs of the patients they will be caring for. She also feels a great sense of satisfaction watching the students as they develop in their role as nurse.
