High tech, state-of-the-art, paperless general dental office seeking an upbeat, reliable, attentive, proactive CDA to join a rapidly growing dental practice. Candidate must be able to work with new dental technology; Ex: digital impressions scanner, digital intraoral x-rays/panoramic x-ray/ CBCT, intraoral camera etc. Willing to train with the right certified candidate.

Reports to: Dentist, Office Manager

Responsible for assisting the dentist in the clinical treatment of patients. Will be trained for front desk duties as needed.

Patient Management
Greet patients when they sign in and monitor arrival time
Set up treatment rooms for procedures
Escort patients to treatment room
Seat patients in treatment rooms
Show care and concern, and help patients feel comfortable
Obtain and review health histories according to office protocol
Ensure patients are always attended
Anticipate and assist dentist’s needs during procedures
Perform expanded functions and other tasks as assigned by the dentist/ office manager
Comfortable with assisting with fillings, crowns, root canals, extractions, implants and other dental procedures
Mixing materials and taking impressions
Ensure patients’ questions are answered thoroughly before they leave
Escort patients from the treatment room
Perform clinical procedures (ie In-office Whitening) as practice act allows and as directed by dentist
Treatment Room Management and Sterilization
Keep dental units ready, stocked and clean
Oversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization procedures
Disinfect treatment rooms according to OSHA an CDC regulations
Sterilize all instruments and handpieces according to OSHA regulations
Implement the preventative maintenance/cleaning schedule for dental equipment
Monitor inventory of dental office supplies and notify Supplies Coordinator as needed
Ensure that treatment rooms are stocked at all times

Graduate of accredited dental assisting program or dental assisting experience preferred
Coursework in dental instruments and procedures
Compliance with state dental practice requirements (i.e., X-ray requirements, OSHA training)
Computer skills (list computer skills required any specific dental software)
Commitment to CE for career development
