Many destructive fires are caused by hot work or the cutting, welding and other work that generates heat and sparks. Various regulations and codes cover hot work and, when followed properly, help ensure you and your co-workers stay safe. This course covers hazards, safety precautions, responsibilities and emergency procedures associated with this dangerous work. Ideal learners include all employees.

EPA  has developed four types of certification:
  • For servicing small appliances (Type I).
  • For servicing or disposing of high- or very high-pressure appliances, except small appliances and MVACs (Type II).
  • For servicing or disposing of low-pressure appliances (Type III).
  • For servicing all types of equipment (Universal)

To obtain a Universal EPA certification, students must pass the universal test that contains 100 questions split among the three sectors, Type I, Type II and Type III. With the universal EPA certification you can service all HVAC appliances.

Congratulations to all of our students for obtaining both Hot Works & Universal certifications!
