Post Secondary Planning at Whitman-Hanson Regional High School
Rhonda Jermyn, STI Admissions Advisor, was invited to participate in Whitman-Hanson’s 2017 Career Connections Fair. Its purpose was to expose students to various professions and educational training. This was offered as a voluntary event for students in grades 9 – 12. Approximately 200 attended the fair which was well orchestrated by the Guidance Department. Students were prepared with questions, and had the opportunity to speak with professionals working in various industries such as health care, accounting, television production, and community service workers (police, fire, EMT).
STI was one of a few post-secondary schools in attendance. Since many of the students were unfamiliar with our programs, we appreciated the opportunity to provide literature and to engage students in a conversation about vocational training and the career paths we offer.
