2nd Annual Taste of STI was a huge success!
The weather was dreary on Thursday, April 4th, in South Easton, but inside Southeastern Technical Institute, people were smiling as they enjoyed samples from local food service establishments at the second annual Taste of STI! STI Interim Director Patricia Illsley was thrilled with the event, “I think it is a wonderful occasion that brings the community into our school. Visitors get to sample great food and the vendors can connect with new customers. Best of all, everyone has the opportunity to learn about STI, our wonderful students, and our amazing programs”.
Food highlights from the event included delicious chicken Francesca from Freda’s, mini Mexican bowl buffet from Roxanne’s Taqueira, Italian and Chinese sausage from Petti’s Market and Deli, as well as lobster mac and cheese from STI’s own adult Culinary Arts Program. Guests also enjoyed getting their hair braided and paraffin waxes from STI’s adult Cosmetology students. “Loved the Cosmo girls doing their thing. Great idea!” “Wish it was every week!” We would also like to congratulate the six individuals that won a manicure, pedicure, haircut, blow dry or facial. All winners have been notified via phone.
Mrs. Illsley and the entire STI staff is grateful for the variety of vendors that took time out of their busy schedules to join us! Be sure to visit these establishments and mention that you met them at the Taste of STI! 2 Jerks BBQ (Raynham), Costco’s (Avon), Edible Arrangements (Foxboro), Freda’s Restaurant (West Bridgewater), Lawadessa Restaurant (West Bridgewater), Leandros Italian Restaurant and Tavern (Easton), Montilio’s Baking Company (Brockton), Mario’s Trattoria (North Easton), Olive Garden (Foxboro), Papa Gino’s (Easton), Petti’s Market (Brockton), Piezoni’s (Easton), Roxanne’s Taqueria (Easton/Stoughton), Simpson Spring (Easton), Stoneforge Grill (Easton), and STI’s Adult Culinary Arts Program as well as Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School’s Culinary Arts Program.
