As the school year comes to a close and we prepare for our incoming class, I would like to thank our students, staff, and industry partners for making this such a successful year at STI. We had many highlights during the school year, far too many to list, but I would like to share a few with you. In 2015/2016, we graduated our first class of Cosmetology students, we hosted our first Taste of STI which included both a tasting event and Avant Garde hair and fashion show, our Medical Assisting students partnered with the Old Colony Y for a blood pressure and health clinic, and our Dental Assisting students all passed their 3-part national DANB certification exam and became CDA’s. Our Practical Nurse students, along with their instructor joined forces with the Brockton Council on Aging and participated with local senior citizens in the March to End Elder Abuse, and our all of our HVAC students earned four industry certifications. I would like to thank all of our Advisory Committee Members for their valuable input, the preceptors at our extern sites for mentoring our students, and the guidance, career center, and Mass Rehab counselors who took time out of their busy schedules to attend one of our informational visits and tours. This fall, as we begin another year of educating students in our six post-secondary programs, we will also start the admissions process in our two newest programs Electrical and Plumbing. Both of these programs are slated to begin training students in September of 2017. At STI we believe in educating students through superior vocational/technical training, offering education at a price that students can afford, and supporting our students as they become employed in their new careers.
